Passionate about boats, Axel has received multiple prizes for those he has created (Nautical Design Award Milano, Royal Ocean Racing Club of London’s Yacht of the Year, …) and beaten a few records (Speed record around the British Islands, Winner of the Transat 650...), while envisioning genre-defining designs.
As comfortable in imagining a collectible wooden bike for Hermès Paris (Monocle Design Award 2021) as in designing the first sailing museum on behalf of the Art Explora foundation, Axel has managed the Hermès Horizons design studio since 2013, overseeing some of the french luxury goods manufacturer’s most remarkable projects. In parallel, he is steering the development of his own studio, launched in 2004.
